Portrait
This piece took me about four hours with coloured pencils. It is a portrait of a youtuber, Nathan Sharp. I was trying to get this piece to look as realistic as possible, the main challenge was doing his hair. I finished what I wanted, I don't like adding backgrounds to portraits. I started to do a different picture of him, but I had a hard time with parts of it, so I changed my idea a bit and used a different picture for reference. I think it was very successful. This is one of my better portrait pieces, I think. I've always had a hard time with ears, since he has gauges it added another layer of difficulty but I think I managed to do it pretty well. Portraits are always very rigorous because it takes a really long time to get the shading just right, but if you over shade it looks too fake.
