Doodle For Google

Doodle For Google

This piece took me about 45 minutes to complete with coloured pencils and a pen outline.  Google was asking for what you think the future will look like, since their examples were flying cars and robot future, I assumed that they wanted very distant future.  I don't have the most optimistic view for that far into the future so my doodle for Google is more of a dystopian future.  The "G" is a burned, ripped, dirty kids stuffed rabbit toy.  The first "o" is a bloodied bandage over an arm or a leg.  The second "o" is a burning fire.  The "g" is an old fashion WWII style gas mask.  The "l" is a destroyed burning building.  The "e" is supposed to look like a stamp or graffiti.  The theme would be dystopian future or post-apocalyptic.  I wanted to do a bit more detailing on the smoggy sky and dark ground but I didn't want to mix it too much with the letters themselves so I changed that and just did a dark colour mix with more of a grey and red at the top and some greens for the ground.  As much as I like the dystopian future idea, I don't draw it very much.  I liked learning to do the more rugged edges of things and torn/used style.
